Up for sale is the exact item shown in the photos: a limited edition sterling silver proof medal honoring Admiral Michiel de Ruyter, one of the most celebrated naval heroes in Dutch history. This collectible is part of the official commemorative series issued by the International Society of Postmasters and minted by The Franklin Mint in 1976.

The release commemorates the 300th anniversary of Admiral de Ruyter’s death, with a corresponding Dutch stamp and official First Day Cover postmarked in Vlissingen (Flushing), Netherlands, dated April 22, 1976 – de Ruyter’s birthplace.
